Open r/Tokidoki on any given day and the top post is a shelf: a thrifted unit that turned out to be "THE perfect unicorno shelf", a bookshelf lined with acrylic risers, a whole bedroom arranged around a rainbow of figures. Display is the most-posted theme in the tokidoki community, and the comments ask the same things every time. Where did you get the case? Which risers fit? Is my desk by the window safe?

This guide answers those questions for an Australian collector. Where a tip comes from the community rather than from tokidoki, we say so.

Why Unicornos Are Awkward to Display

A Unicorno is not a cube: a stubby pony shape with a single horn on top, two small wings at the neck, and hoof sections on each leg, and the horn is usually the tallest point. The footprint is wider than it is deep, and a few characters lean or rear up, so two figures from the same set can need different clearances. Hence the usual complaint about acrylic cases sold for blind box figures: they fit the body but clip the horn.

Collectors regularly post a scuffed figure and ask how to clean it up. The honest answer has two halves. Surface marks and grime come off. Start with a soft brush, then a microfibre cloth, then a cloth dampened with plain water. Work gently, dry the figure, and stop there. No solvents, nail polish remover, or abrasive cleaners; they strip paint faster than they lift marks and cloud translucent parts such as Mermicorno fins.

Deep scratches in the vinyl cannot be removed, and polishing spreads the damage. That is the practical reason to buy factory-sealed boxes from a shop you can trace rather than loose second-hand figures of unknown history. Cataloguing Your Collection

A display is easier to manage when you know exactly what is in it.
