Know the chase tiers by name
Each tier above UR carries its own visual identity, and unboxing videos usually call the cards by their artwork names rather than their codes:
- AR — “Ideal Dreams”: dynamic ukiyo-e battle compositions in full-bleed artwork.
- SP — stained glass: a stained-glass aesthetic, printed as a base version plus meaningfully scarcer parallel variants — worth knowing which version you are holding.
- MR — “Constellations”: character portraits paired with constellation overlays.
- BP — “Battle Print”: a full ukiyo-e narrative scene; seven BP types exist in Jin Chapter Series 2.
- SE — “Interlude Theater”: theatrical ukiyo-e stage framing; four SE types in Jin Chapter Series 2 make it the rarest tier in that box. Series 2 also adds PU (Parallel Universe) cards and a per-box PR promo card.
One trap to avoid: the Chinese-market KAYOU range prints extra rarity codes — CP, GP, CR, NR and others — that are locked to Chinese box tiers and do not appear in the English product sold in Australia. If a break video shows a tier code you cannot find on an English card list, do not pay secondary-market prices chasing a card that was never in the English boxes.
Which sealed boxes give the best chase odds
KAYOU does not publish official pull rates, and the community estimates you see quoted online are self-reported — rough orientation, not an odds calculator. Chase depth is the honest way to compare boxes: Jin Chapter is the premium family where the deep chase tiers live; Earth Scroll is the more accessible entry set.
