What's in the box

Twenty sealed booster packs from Fantasy Wonderland, Series 1 of the English My Little Pony Trading Card Game. Each pack holds 5 cards, so a box is 100 cards.

The set runs 191 card types across 13 rarity tiers: Common, Uncommon, Silver Rare (SR), Sapphire Rare (SPR), Emerald Rare (ER), Gold Rare (GR), Colorful Rare (CR) and Ruby Rare (RR), plus a Shining (※) parallel of each of the top five. Pack contents are random and no specific card is guaranteed.

Chase cards to look for

At the top sit the Shining Ruby Rares (RR※): six full-art Mane Six cards (Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Rainbow Dash and Rarity) with a rainbow lenticular border. KAYOU's production ratio is one RR※ per 640 packs, which is one card per 32 boxes.

Below them come the twelve Shining Colorful Rare (CR※) alternate arts at one per 8 boxes, the eleven Shining Sapphire (SPR※) event cards at one per 4 boxes, and the Shining Gold (GR※) and Shining Emerald (ER※) tiers at one each per box. The regular RR, GR and CR Mane Six cards are the mid-tier hits.

How the MLP TCG works

This is KAYOU's playable My Little Pony line, not the Friendship Eternal collectible range. Force of Harmony is the cost to put cards into play; Inspiration is a Character's strength when it meets a rival in a Contact.

Turns run through four phases (Starting, Main, Contact and End) across Scene, Story, Retirement and Adventure areas, with up to 3 characters on your Adventure at once. You win by promoting your Main Character to the stage four Story card, or when your opponent's Main Deck runs out. Games take roughly 20 to 30 minutes, and the game is rated ages 6 and up.

Start with a starter deck

A booster box widens a card pool; it holds no rules and no ready-to-play deck. If nobody in the house plays yet, begin with a Friendships Begin starter deck: 70 cards, pre-built, with the rules printed on the included playmat. Fantasy Wonderland boosters then deepen the decks you build.

What is the difference between the NA and SEA prints of Fantasy Wonderland?

Both are English prints of the same Series 1 set, and both boxes hold 20 packs of 5 cards.
