What Is Is KAYOU Naruto a TCG??

The confusion comes from the word 'cards'. Naruto has had genuine playable card games: Bandai's Naruto Collectible Card Game (2006 to 2011, now discontinued) and the newer Naruto Mythos game. KAYOU Naruto is a different product from a different company. KAYOU (卡游) holds a licence to produce Naruto collectible cards and sells them in sealed booster boxes and packs, but nothing on the card is used to play. There is no attack value that does anything, no deck list, no tournament scene. What the cards have instead is a rarity ladder (R through to PTR in SEA-edition Jin Chapter, with serialised chase tiers in the NA-edition Series 3), premium textures and foils, and a collector market built on completing sets and pulling chase cards. If you want a Naruto game you can sit down and play, KAYOU is not it. If you want licensed Naruto cards to collect, display, grade and trade, KAYOU is the line most collectors in Asia and Australia are buying. The one playable exception in the KAYOU range stocked at CottierTCG is the My Little Pony Trading Card Game, which is a separate rules-based game rather than a collectible edition.
